You know Melbourne when you hear it in the music and see it in the style dance. No Standing depicts the Melbourne we all know and love. An event that brings all types of dirty house & electro lovers together, No Standing has been running their super-events throughout the passed year or so at only the best venues our great city holds.
Looking to burn off those Christmas feast calories, young good-lookers had each floor filled. Three misty, dark rooms hosted the elite group of Melbourne DJs that presented music that could be described as 'Ear-gasmic'!
The main room hosted T-Rek and his band from the get-go. This is where rock music meets electro and intertwines with devilish vocals. It has been a little over a year since the release of “Out My Bitch” and was so suitably performed to lead the crowd to the end of T-Rek’s rocking performance.
Melbourne music is so well known that everybody knows each build up, every kick in and all lyrics… and it never grows old. Unexpected drop in’s encourage fist pumping, while captivating melodies emphasis pulsating body movements. In other words, everybody rocks it to this stuff and they rock it hard!
Stevie Mink is the genius behind the Rap song remixes that everyone still appreciates. Along with these, came some of 2010’s hottest tunes and Stevie had the top floor pumping. This was before Melbourne’s new mysterious duo, Slice ‘n’ Dice, created the strongest impression of the night while absolutely killing it and sending the crowd into a massive frenzy. These guys, known for wearing differently designed masks at every gig to hide their identity, hit the 2000’s and were being admired like rock gods.
Some other familiar names on the line up were Kalus, Orkestrated, Dean Del, Heath Renata and Samuel James, just to name a few. But another welcoming highlight was Van-G together with a new singing sensation, Madison. You might remember her as the incredible singer who performed Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” at her audition at 2010's X-Factor. With a keyboard at her hands, Madison performed covers such as “Toca's Miracle” and “Find Yourself.” Another great talent to come out of Melbourne!
Look out for more upcoming No Standing events. They keep getting better and showcase the immense talent Melbourne has to offer.
