All good things must come to an end. After 7 years of frivolous fun, good times and great memories Ffour closes its doors on October 3rd. The Ffour Family would like to invite you to join us to bid one of Melbourne's most beloved venues farewell. In true Ffour style we have locked in a series of huge events in order to see the venue off with a bang.
Saturday 12th September will reunite the Nasty tribe, showcasing all the boompty and jacking house music that was a part of Ffour Saturdays 2003-2006. Saturday 19th September sees German Deep House gun Roland Appel join Sven Vath's right hand man, Cocoon's Chris Tietjen. The 26th September sees Dave Pham and Mike Callander play their final 5 hour jam - unquestionably the highlight of the Pretty Simple calendar. The series of events culminates in The Likes Of You presenting a German double international show with Butch and Johnny D performing on October 3rd.
Bring you mum, bring your dad and trip over our steps one last time.
Take home an everlasting memory from one of the clubs that has transformed Melbourne into the underground musical haven it is today.
7 years on…
August 2002 saw Ffour open its doors with a glamorous media launch, numerous fashion extravaganza's and a commitment to showcasing some of Melbourne finest house and disco DJs such as Paulie Main, Tony Crea, Jnett, Takse and Greg Molinaro. A short time later DJ Peril and the Uptown Fridays crew, followed by Agent 86 and The Ghetto Fleas, represented Melbourne RnB to Hip Hop on Fridays from 2003 to 2006. Agent 86’s epic 6 hour sets on a Friday had the entire room peering over the console trying to figure out how 86 worked such precise cuts, juggles and seamless flow between genres while still keeping everyone on the floor in beat.
Saturday's in 2003 saw a tribe of house music addicts unite under the 'Nasty' banner forging a movement for jacking house music in Melbourne. Anyo, Ganz, Sir Cosmic, Ragga and Franky D championed the sweet, deep, jazzy, soulful Chicago inspired jackin' house that kicked on for three years @ ffour, and saw some epic nights, with James Curd of The Greenskeepers, Roy Davis Jr, Stacy Kidd, Ron Carroll, DJ Heather, Slater Hogan, John Larner, Fred Everything, Karizma and Miss Honey Dijon plus many more turning the club on its head regularly on Saturday nights.
DJ Flagrant and the 100% Phat crew owned Fridays in the city for some time with their Late Night Hype parties, which included coordinating one of the most memorable events in Ffour's history featuring Questlove of the Roots playing a three hour set while the entire Roots crew partied the night out at Ffour.
More recently Pretty Simple; Ffour Saturdays has led the Deep House to Techno scene for almost 3 years with residents Dave Pham, Mike Callander, Dean Millson and Matt Radovich twisting beats every Saturday. Featuring Jona from Get Physical, Pig & Dan, Matthias Tanzmann, Ripperton, Steve Rachmad, Lee Burridge, The Last Techno Party Ever, Trickski, Phil Kieran, Moonbeam, Kazu Kimura, Marc Houle & Gaiser plus countless other international guests, not to forget Christian Vance's world class live shows. Pretty Simple has collated a heavy bag of proud moments over the last three years @ Ffour.
Join us for our final days. All good things must come to an end...
